Arriving in Paris

We arrived in Paris at Gare de Lyon at 5pm.

Two metros, going up and down the stairs (no escalators, no elevators, the French have lots of caching up to do when it comes to making easier to take the metro with luggage or people with disabilities, we are at our apartment in Place de Clichy. We rented the apartment on the Internet. The owner is waiting for us, we go up, this is our little apartment for a week in Paris; not bad at all….

This is the view from the window.

We left our luggage (why do I still have sooo much stuff?) and went over to Philippe place. Wow Paris!!!! this city is being described, photographed, it is the most city visited in the world! how can I describe the feeling that I have being here? for now I am just overwhelmed.

Philippe took us to an interesting restaurant close to his place; the restaurant has 3 open floors, we are on the second floor, we can look up and down at the other floor. The ceiling is open, there is a glass roof that closes only when it rains or very cold. There are many flowers and many paintings on the walls. There are lots of people, no wonder food is very French and very good! It was after 9 pm and I was eating; at home I never eat after 9pm, hmmm…my French vacation is changing everything.

This was our first day in Paris; we got home almost at midnight, we are tired.
