Visting Paris

We have been in Paris for four days now; we walked everywhere to try to see as much as possible, La Place Concorde, Vendome, Montparnasse, Quartier Latine, along de La Seine, Jardin de Tuilerries, Luxembourg…..and many otheres. I would like to be able to live here for a year to have a chance to really visit these places, to slow down and enjoy the beauty, the pulse, the feeling of this amazing city……


We visited Le Louvre and Versailles. I think of both places like a day trip; it is good to get there early and spend the whole day; they are huge, there is so much to see, it is overwhelming. Le Louvre ticket is 9 Euros and Versailles is 21.65 Euros including the return trip by train from Paris.

Apparently in Paris it is not the full tourist season yet, but to me there are already too many tourists; I don’t even want to think of Paris and the museums, gardens, streets in full tourist season.

In Le Louvre and Versailles there are tons of tourists, and they are taking far too many pictures, it gets really annoying, cameras are snapping pictures everywhere; we noticed some people don’t even look at the paintings or sculptures, they just take a picture and move on. In the museum store one can buy beautiful picture albums; I think would be much better and helpful to the museum, the artists and everyone’s enjoyment if tourists wouldn’t take any pictures and buy the album at the end of the visit.

I was telling Mark that if I was the “director” of the museums I will add 20 Euros to the ticket price for the right to take pictures in the museums; there are already some museums that charge for the picture taken and we money talks it seems that all of the sudden people become more “considerate”.

Mark and I are thinking what can we do to have lots of money so we can live here for a while; did I mention that Paris is one of the most beautiful but also most expensive place to be……….
